Omega 85 Performs in the Packaging Industry

Al-Medan Project Factory for Carton (MPFC), a leading carton production factory in Saudi Arabia, was incorporated in July 2004. MPFC, headquartered in Riyadh, started as a converting factory that produced commercial packaging boxes. Later, it imported a complete line of corrugator machine set for manufacturing corrugated carton products. Now, MPFC produces and supplies in-demand corrugated carton products in the country to most of their clients catering to home appliances, farm and dairy products producers, tools and equipment manufacturers, food and beverages suppliers, etc.

Omega Solutions

Previously, MPFC, operating 24 hours daily, used various local brands of high-temp greases to lubricate up to 200 bearings (sizes of the bearings: 150mm) of a corrugator machines. However, MPFC was not satisfied with the performance of these greases since these greases simply could not withstand the heat. They just melted and then splattered, causing lots of maintenance problems such as unscheduled machine breakdown and delay in production and resulting in premature bearing damage. Change of greases was urgently required.

Mr. Gilbert Abaja (Maintenance manager of MPFC Factory), who used Omega products in his previous company, decided to apply Omega 85 to resolve the maintenance problem. After application of Omega 85, the plant has boosted its carton productivity and reduced maintenance breakdown repair. On average, 60 Kgs (Sixty kilograms) of Omega 85 are used to re-grease the 200 bearings every three months.

“We have continuous production so far and we seldom repair bearings of our corrugator machines since Assawayer introduced and supplied Omega 85 grease to us,” said Abaja, stressing that machine repairs are highly affecting production output and causing delay delivery of their finished products to customers.

Abaja then added that Omega 85 has excellent resistance to frictional wear, high heat and steam – which effectively lubricates the bearings.
